Iyalaje Oodua stands out as a role model
Drawing her inspiration from the fabled Roman goddess of kindness, Misericordia, Iyalaje Toyin Kolade is of the opinion that kindness is a choice and for her, it’s a way of life she has chosen since her formative years. For many years, she has consistently kept touching lives without expecting anything in return – a gesture those close to her said she inherited from her generous mother, Madam Comfort known as Iya Aladura.
For those who are not aware, the Fisolak Global resource boss does not court unnecessary media attention, however, her kind gestures and uncommon generosity keep finding their way into public space. The spiritual head of the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and commerce is not just your regular socialite, she is one of the few billionaires who does not discriminate and also throws the doors of her house wide open to the downtrodden
At the just-concluded Olojo festival in Ile-Ife, last week, Iyalaje Oodua was the center of attraction. Apart from her radiating aura, graceful gait, and charming demeanor, she radiated round like a shining star that cannot be covered. On behalf of Ooni of Ife; Ooni Babatunde Adeyeye Ogunwusi, she made sure thousands of guests were properly treated and feted to royalty in celebration of the Olojo festival – a festivity synonymous with a new dawn in the history of the Yoruba race. There was an endless display of traditional and cultural aesthetics as Ooni wore the oldest and sacred Aare crown as he paraded Ile-Ife town saying prayers. The highlight of the Olojo festival came during the Olojo Cultural talent exhibition when some children actors staged a play where they mimicked Ooni and some other deities in Yoruba land. Their performance was so exceptional that Iyalaje Oodua announced an educational scholarship for the kids under the Iyalaje Oodua Scholarship Scheme
