NGO empowers 81 ladies with marketable skills in Lagos
On Thursday empowered 81 girls with marketable skills in Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos state.
The three-day skill acquisition programme which commenced on Wednesday (Aug. 23) through Thursday, (Aug. 24) would end on Sept. 7.
Speaking, Dr Anuoluwapo Jolaoso, Vice-president, WOW said that the project was one of the ways God has been helping the ministry to fulfill her vision to train, build, and raise prayerful and purposeful women.

Jolaoso who was represented by Mrs. Temidayo Adeyanju, WOW Ministry Administrator said that the three days Skill Acquisition Training was organised for in-school adolescent girls to equip them with marketable skills for a brighter future under WOW programme an arm of WOW in Lagos.
“The three-day workshop, which took place on Wednesday and Thursday is slated to come to an end on Sept. 7.
“The participants of the workshop who are female students of New State High School located at Palm Avenue, Mushin Lagos benefited from the knowledge of facilitators who are committed to equipping young girls with skills to succeed as entrepreneurs.
“The girls learned how to make fascinators, hats, and pastries. A total of 81 girls were trained during the workshop” she said.
Jolaoso also said that the training was part of efforts to increase the enjoyment of human rights among women and girls in Nigeria.
She said Global Affairs Canada (GAC), provided the funding under the Women Voices and Leadership Project, Nigeria (WVLPN) through ActionAid Nigeria (AAN), in partnership with Women Rights And Health Project (WRAHP) to Women of Wisdom Ministry.
Jolaoso said that the fund was to carry out activities in Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State.
She said GAC, AAN, and WRAHP are channels by which God has been making a way to touch the lives of young girls and women in Mushin community.
Jolaoso said it was through their funding and support that WOW was able to implement this project and the many others that have been done over the past four years of partnership.
